Fake Pharmaceuticals – Why Risk Your Health?

Thursday, May 5th, 2011

The cost of brand name pharmaceuticals can be a bit pricey to say the least. Most people look around to see if there is a generic version of the drug that will cost less or if there is a cheaper flight to Canada! Then we have the scourge of fake pharmaceuticals, particularly when it comes to fake Viagra.

Want to see me angry? Watch me pay my health insurance premium! The same goes for prescriptions. A member of my family was injured in a car crash and the cost of her pain killers is simply staggering. Insurance covers it, so we are okay. Still, the price is enough to make me want to start a drug company! Most people feel this way. Pharmaceuticals are priced so high that it is now ingrained in most of us that we should look for cheaper generic versions of the drugs we need, particularly online. Personally, I have no objection to this and am write there clicking away with you.

Viagra is, unfortunately different. As we all know by now, Viagra allows men to overcome erectile dysfunction issues and enjoy intimacy again. It really is an amazing drug when you think about it. The downside, however, is those magic blue pills are not cheap. Given this, most of us look around online for the best deal. This can be problematic because there is a lot of fake Viagra being sold.

Depending on where you shop, you can get Viagra from $20 to $40 a pill online. The more you buy, the better deal you tend to get. Given this, do you think a little skepticism is warranted when you find it on sale for $6 a pill? How can this be? Perhaps it is a heck of deal, but you really shouldn’t be surprised when that cheap Viagra “doesn’t work for me.” Yes, because it isn’t really Viagra!

Nobody likes to be ripped off. That being said, there is a bigger potential problem with fake Viagra. We know there is no active ingredient in it. This begs the question then of…well, what IS in it? Viagra impacts your blood pressure. For men with heart disease [which is most American men], taking a pill that might contain something that is going to tweak your blood pressure is just nuts.

Let me ask you a simple question. Imagine I walked up to you on the street. I told you I had a magic pill that would so something amazing and would give it to you for $5. Would you buy it and take it? Probably not. So, why do it when you are online? Don’t risk your health!

Lifestyle Pharmaceuticals: The New Wave of Recreational Drugs

Ambien Music In the last few years, I seem to have lost my ability for industrial-strength sleep. I suspect it’s hormonal, but I for one have never wanted to play the “ovary card.” Whatever I’m feeling, I’ll just power through it. Having said that, sleep is pretty darn important, so that’s the one concession I’ll make to chemical aids. I’ve decided MY personal “hormone replacement therapy” regimen is yoga, a decent haircut and Ambien CR.

Apparently the US Air force also considers Ambien a useful tool as an “approved pharmacological countermeasure.” Because of uncomfortable working and sleeping environments, and an ultra-fast paced environment, fatigue is a growing concern. Particularly when a flying boo-boo can cost you millions and millions of dollars, “operator alertness” is pretty important. As a result, various components of the U.S. military have authorized the use of specific pharmacological substances as “go” or “no-go” pills. Yes, that’s what I’m going to call it from now on. “An approved pharmacological countermeasure.” Right alongside my “approved retailogical and spalogical countermeasures.”
